A position has become available for an experienced and competent 2IC on our client’s large scale 800 cow dairy enterprise situated in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

Working with the owner and also independently – this ‘hands on’ position of 2IC will involve the following key responsibilities and duties:-

A position has become available for an experienced 2IC on our client's family owned and operated large scale dairy enterprise situated at Yalca in Northern Victoria. (10 mins to Strathmerton – 40 mins to City of Greater Shepparton).

Employment Specifics

The successful applicant must have previous large herd experience You will work in conjunction with the owners and current 2IC.   You will therefore ideally have-

Farm Description

• Droving of milking herds / Maintain paddock rotation

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced “hands on” Dairy Farm Manager on our client company’s 300-400 cow dairy operation situated at Maffra in Central Gippsland.

The farm is pasture based and consists of some 600 acres which is fully irrigated.  Milking 300-400 cows in a 36 unit rotary dairy.

The successful applicant must be highly skilled and self motivated with a progressive attitude and demonstrate excellent work/management ethics.  At least 6-8 years in previous dairy management roles is essential.

The prime purpose of this role is to ensure, through "hands-on" management of the dairy operation and team - that all production, milk quality and animal health targets are met.  You will have the responsibility of implementing procedures designed at delivering the most profitable business outcome of the dairy operation.

Our client is seeking to employ a Productivity focused dairy farming couple to join them in their goal of operating an profitable Queensland Dairy Farm.

The on-farm Dairy Couple consists of two positions, of which the Production Manager will be the overall 2IC  and the other is an experienced farm hand. Duties of the second person may include milking, calf rearing, data entry or machinery operator and are flexible around family requirements.

The 2IC position reports directly to the hands-on Owners/Farm Manager, who live a short drive away from the farm. The role requires the 2IC to oversee the milking and fodder production, crops and irrigation, machinery maintenance, fencing and with opportunity to assist with AI and breeding.   As a Dairy Couple, you would be required to function as part of the dairy team and supervise staff.

On offer is a position within a team currently milking 320+ cow on a 50 unit rotary configuration. Computerized ID system and drafting and cup removers, this herd operation has a large covered feed pad and grows out its to be joined young stock off farm.

The farm is on a creek, in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and only around 45 minutes drive from Noosa and other beautiful beaches and shopping & airport at Maroochydore.
