An opportunity has become available for a Dairy Manager / 2IC or couple to join our client’s team on a progressive, 1,500 cow herd in inland Northern NSW.


This modern pasture-based enterprise – comprising over 800 acres of Centre Pivot irrigation - strives for excellence in cow health and production and boasts state-of-the art feeding, reproductive and rumen health monitoring infrastructure and a modern computerised 60 stand rotary dairy with ACR’s, SCR Collars Milk Meters.


Reporting directly to the Farm / Feed Manager and working closely with the Assistant Manager, the role requires you to manage the milking, breeding and health of the herd as well as play a role in feeding and pasture allocation. AI, computer use, some milking and night checks on calving, strip grazing, dairy plant maintenance, feeding of livestock.


As a working Dairy Manager you would be required to function as part of the dairy team and supervise staff.

Ideally you will have:


  • Previous experience managing dairy cows in large herds
  • Skills in dairy reproduction and health including AI programs and milk quality programs / AI Certificate / calving experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years dairy experience / formal qualifications preferred, but not essential
  • Experience in supervising staff / A willingness to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Punctuality / cleanliness / attention to detail
  • Machinery experience

Senior Dairy Farm Operator / 2IC

Location: Casterton / Coleraine District – SW Victoria

Permanent – Full Position

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced, highly-skilled and self-motivated Senior Dairy Farm Operator / 2IC to join our client’s large scale progressive and modern dairy farm enterprise using current technology situated in the Casterton-Coleraine District of SW Victoria.


Centrally located only 15 minutes between Casterton & Coleraine townships which offer excellent modern facilities including schools / medical / shopping and all sporting & leisure activities. Hamilton is 30 mins and Mt. Gambier 50 min drive.


This well-established pasture and TMR farming operation consists of over 3,000 acres. 1,200 acres of which currently milks around 650 cows. Calving 1 x per year. The dairy is 50 unit rotary fully computerised shed - set up as a 1 person operation. Young stock are reared on a 900 acre out block.




As ‘hands-on’ Operator, you will continue to grow and pursue excellence in all facets of the farming operation on a day to day basis, working closely and under the direction of the Owner. Previous experience at this level or similar is essential.

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced and self-motivated “hands-on” Dairy Supervisor to become part of a dedicated team on our client’s 250 cow dairy farming entity located in the Bega Valley on the Far South Coast of New South Wales (ideally located just 20 minutes to beautiful coastal beaches which offer excellent outdoor family / leisure activities, shopping, schooling and modern facilities).



Overview of Position


The Dairy Supervisor will have the responsibility and management of the day to day operation of the dairy shed. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be part of a team who will be committed to excellence in dairy production and sustainability. You will therefore have the competency and initiative to make decisions when required.



Employment Specifics


The successful candidate must have a minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role. You must be reliable and self-motivated with a progressive attitude who is able to ensure milk quality, all herd health and animal welfare standards are met.

  • AI Certificate would be an advantage
