A position has become available for an experienced, highly skilled and competent Young Stock Manager or Couple to join our client’s large scale 1,200 cow progressive dairy farming enterprise located at Blighty in the Southern Riverina district of New South Wales (20 mins to Finley – 20 mins to CBD of Deniliquin).
The position on offer would suit someone with ‘high level skill set’ - who is passionate about the dairy industry and wishing to pursue a long-term career in the dairy sector. Previous experience is essential to this position.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Owner – the Young Stock Manager has the overall accountability for ensuring all calves are fed, watered, housed and managed according to the Businesses’ Animal welfare standard ranging from newborn to pre-calving. Working in a support team of 2-3 people, you will also be assisted, when needed, by a cohesive team of calf rearing staff. All year-round calving pattern (approximately 1,000 – 2,000 young stock)

There is a modern 20 swing over herringbone dairy. Batch calving – March & August.
There is the option to bring your own herd, and run as Share Farmers.
The successful applicant must have previous experience in the dairy industry who enjoys herd management and milk harvesting. You will be self-motivated with a progressive attitude and demonstrate excellent work, management and animal welfare ethics. Experience and sound knowledge in irrigation systems is most essential.

The dairy farming entity consists of 600 acres of irrigated (Pivots & Laterals) and dryland pastures.
Currently milking 250 stud Holstein & Jersey cows on a PMR system.
There is a modern 20 aside herringbone dairy with auto draft, auto feeding system and heatime heat detection system.
There is on-farm accommodation available (to the right applicant).
Situated only 14km’s to the major City Centre of Tamworth with School Bus pick up at the front gate.

About the Position
Peppertree Dairy which is located at Kyabram in Northern Victoria is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and professional Dairy Farm Managers who are looking to develop their skills in 2020/21 and beyond within the Dairy Industry.
This well-established and progressive farming entity milks 500 cows / split calving herd, consists of approximately 400 acres with a 320 acre adjoining run-off block. The dairy is a 50 bail rotary shed with automation. Majority of the irrigation is automated (all flood) to maximise efficiency. Feed system is predominantly pasture based.
