Due to the growth of our client’s large scale dairy farming enterprise in Northern Victoria, 2 positions have become available for reliable, committed and self-motivated Dairy Farm workers. Experience is preferred, but not necessary. Training, guidance and support will be offered to the right candidate.


This modern entity comprises of two dairy farms consisting of a 400 cow farm and another 1,300 cow farm with plans for progression in the near future.


Employment Specifics


The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Farm Manager and will ideally have the following skill set, however, training will be provided:-

  • Good sound knowledge and skills in milk harvesting (preferred, but not essential)
  • Operation of tractor / mixer wagon
  • Mechanical aptitude would also be desirable
  • Excellent work ethics with good communication skills (essential)
  • Ability to work in a strong team environment as well as unsupervised
  • A current driver’s licence is required as well as reliable transport.

Role Responsibility

  • Assisting with milking of herd – 50 unit rotary shed
  • Calf rearing / Record keeping
  • Young stock work (health checks, treatments, weighing, vaccination & treatments)
  • Tractor work (mainly feeding out hay / pellets)
  • Droving of stock and associated stock work
  • General farm work / fencing and associated maintenance

An opportunity has become available for an efficient, enthusiastic and self-motivated General Dairy Farm Worker on our client’s 450-500 cow dairy farm situated at Dorrigo on the North Coast of New South Wales. (4kms to township – primary & secondary schools, shops, cafes, hospital  – 1 hour to beautiful Coffs Harbour and beaches).


This 1100 acre farm (900 acres irrigation), equipped with a 50 stand rotary shed, has a year round calving pattern and operates a pasture based system. 


The successful applicant will work under the direction of the owners in sharing work commitments and have the responsibility of implementing procedures to ensure a profitable dairy business operation. Experience in all facets of farming is paramount including herd management. You will therefore have:-

  • previous dairy experience – all aspects of farming operations.
  • excellent knowledge of herd health management skills
  • high standards of work & animal welfare ethics with attention to detail
  • good attitude / hard worker / team player / self motivated
  • tractor competency – repairs and maintenance knowledge an advantage
  • experience with silage making
  • ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • excellent communication and time management skills

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:-

  • Milk harvesting (cups on - cups off)
  • Mastitis detection / treatments / record keeping
  • Maintaining milk quality and assurance
  • Maintain dairy hygiene (workplace to be kept clean and tidy)
  • Monitor springers and assist with calving
  • Tractor work - pasture sowing / silage making
  • Plant equipment and infrastructure maintenance
  • Fencing & trough repairs / weed control / general farm work

A position has become available for an experienced and competent Calf / Young Stock Manager to join our client’s large scale progressive dairy farming enterprise located at Blighty in the Southern Riverina district of New South Wales (20 mins to Finley – 20 mins to CBD of Deniliquin).


The position on offer would suit someone with ‘high level skill set’ - who is passionate about the dairy industry and wishing to pursue a long-term career in the dairy sector. Previous experience is essential to this position.


Role Overview


Reporting directly to the Owner – the Calf/Young Stock Manager has the overall accountability for ensuring all calves are fed, watered, housed and managed according to the Businesses’ Animal welfare standard ranging from newborn to pre-calving. Working in a support team of 2-3 people, you will also be assisted, when needed, by a cohesive team of calf rearing staff. All year-round calving pattern (approximately 1,000 – 2,000 young stock)

  • Role Responsibility / Key Accountabilities


  •   Maintain and adhere to calf rearing required standards according to animal welfare accepted practices.
  •   Manage and maintain a schedule of feeding to ensure the health and vitality of ALL calf and young stock nutritional requirements are met
  •   Maintain a high standard of hygiene that facilitates good calf rearing environment and practice
  •   Ensure all routine health and management procedures are undertaken in a timely manner
  •   Deliver calves to young stock facility at an appropriate size and weight to ensure successful rearing
  •   Maintain a register of birth and health events
  •   Manage and maintain Biosecurity of the calf rearing area / initiating and maintaining a register of reatments and supervision of all vaccinations and preventative health initiatives.
  •   Overall responsibility / supervision of the Calf Rearing team
