An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced and professional Dairy Supervisor to become part of a dedicated team on our client’s large scale dairy farming enterprise located at Undera in Northern Victoria (26kms to Shepparton – 50kms to Echuca).



Overview of Position

The Dairy Supervisor will have the responsibility and management of the day to day operation of the dairy shed. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be part of a team who will be committed to excellence in dairy production and sustainability. You will therefore have the competency and initiative to make decisions when required.



Employment Specifics

The successful candidate must have a minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role. You must be reliable and self-motivated with a progressive attitude who is able to ensure milk quality, all herd health and animal welfare standards are met.

  • Exceptional organisation, communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent knowledge of animal health and herd management
  • Good stock working / animal welfare ethic skills
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff
  • Demonstrate a neat and tidy appearance


Role Responsibility

  • Milk harvesting / mastitis control / heat detection
  • Management of herd health / record keeping / computer system
  • Maintaining milk quality and assurance
  • Supervise milking staff / team to ensure smooth operation
  • Monitoring of procedures and functions in the dairy shed
  • Monitor and assist calving cattle / collection of newborn calves & freshly calved cows
  • Calf rearing / vaccinations / drenching
  • Maintain a clean and tidy dairy & surrounds at all times

Our client is seeking the enthusiasm and passion of a Herd Manager to join their team on their 250 cow dairy farm located on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.  Excellent location with schools and beaches close by.  Only 1 hour south of southern suburbs of Adelaide.


Farming Entity

The dairy farming entity consists of a milking herd of 250 cows split into 70/30 seasonal batch calving.

Grass based with TMR summer feeding.

Dairy shed is auto draft / Easy Dairy touch screen computerised system / feed ID.

Auto station calf feeding system - calf shed.


Employment Specifics

The successful applicant must have proven dairy herd experience.

Excellent work and animal welfare ethics with attention to detail

Be highly self-motivated with a progressive attitude

Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

Our client is currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Dairy Herd Production Manager to become part of a dedicated team on their large scale 700 cow dairy operation located only 10 minutes North of the City of Shepparton. (8km’s to township & school – 10 minutes to major city of Shepparton which offers excellent modern facilities / sporting and lifestyle opportunities).


As ‘hands-on’ Dairy Herd Production Manager, you will continue to grow and pursue excellence in all facets of the day to day milk harvesting and herd health operations of the farm business. Previous experience at this level is paramount. The successful applicant must be highly skilled, dedicated and self- motivated with a progressive attitude and demonstrate excellent work/management/animal welfare ethics.
